But it is not an easy job to take care of a dog; it takes hard work to make your dog look good. Grooming is one of the most important activities that come under caring of a dog.

It’s best to start grooming your dog at an early age. You want him to become accustomed to the routine and all the activity that goes along with grooming. Grooming depends on the number of factors including size, coat type, condition of a dog and temperament of a dog. Before any grooming attempt, owners should ensure they have all necessary grooming items such as clippers, dog Brush, scissors, dog Shampoo, hair dryer, towels and dog nail trimmers. Grooming starts with brushing of a dog, this should be done before bathing the dog because water will cause mats in the fur to shrink and become even more difficult to remove. Brushing will also remove loose fur, making the bathing process easier. The next step is trimming, should be done before bathing. This is because wet fur which has been cut will appear different as it dries.
Then cleaning of eyes is done using a damp towel that gently removes the discharge from the eye. Lightly colored breeds may require additional care if the discharge has stained the fur near the eyes.
